Watson Bowman Acme (WBA) Corp, a division of BASF Construction Chemicals, is a recognized innovator in the development and manufacture of expansion joint control systems for bridges, buildings, parking ramps and other major structures worldwide. WBA currently has an immediate need for temp-to-hire welders. WBA is located in Amherst, NY.

Welders, Welder Fitters & Shop Helpers Temporary to possible permanent positions now available.

Welders/fitters are critical positions in the fabrication shop and are integral to the process of manufacturing expansion joints. Candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and a good safety record to be considered.

Entry-level positions available for those who have graduated from a technical welding training school.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Tack and weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum in accordance with welding codes and specifications.

• Layout, fit, tack and weld component members for system assemblies.

• Layout stud and hole locations.

• Fit, tack and weld sub-assemblies such as splices, stainless steel sheet, plates, bars, rings and shipping devices.

• Continuous welding of lengths using semi-automatic high deposition welding process.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.

• Ability to pass GMAW weld tests.
