Summary
King County Metro Transit is hiring forward-thinking and detail-oriented Project Control Specialist (Project Control Engineer I) to join a dynamic work group within the Capital Division. The Project Control Engineer I plays an important role in providing contract and project administration services within the Project Controls Office to ensure the success of Metro's Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future Career Service vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and

Job Duties
Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. In this role you will apply equity and social justice principles to all aspects of the work.
You will:- Review and analyze invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms, standard work, and policies. Process payments, including packaging, routing, and tracking required documents for approval. DocuSign is used to secure required approvals per established Capital Division Sub-Delegation of Signature Authority.
- Gather and maintain required data for assigned contracts in the contractor payment system within Metro Transit's Capital Management Reporting System (CMRS).
- Conduct compliance review, draft, and route work order agreements, change orders, and amendments, including supporting documentation for approval.
- Maintain and update various logs (submittals, request for information, change orders and amendments, etc.).
- Prepare closeout documentation or checklists as required by contract, policies, or regulatory requirements. Secure lien releases. Coordinate with state agencies for outstanding closeout documentation.
- Create requisitions (utilizing Oracle EBS) receipts and respond to internal and external inquiries for payment information.
- Assist in the preparation of regular or ad hoc reporting.
- Responsible for inputting data into the standardized template (MS Project) used for capital projects.
- Furnish input on existing or assist with the development of new standard works and processes for the workgroup.
- Participate in discussions at team and unit meetings on various Equity and Social Justice topics.
- Perform other contract and project administration duties and related tasks as assigned.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
We are looking for candidates who meet the following
minimum qualifications: - One year of experience performing contract administration, project administration, or project controls duties in an architecture/engineering/planning setting or construction setting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to complete tasks or assignments within specified deadlines.
- Ability to work well and respectfully within a diverse team and establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from different various positions, cultures, and backgrounds.
- Ability to demonstrate behaviors that include fairness, respect, inclusiveness, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Valid Washington State driver's license (or ability to obtain Washington State driver's license upon hire) or ability to travel to off-site locations as needed.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or closely related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and education listed above which provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the work will be considered.
Desired Qualifications:- Certificate(s) or certification(s) in public works procurement, contracts administration, project controls and/or program management.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Project and Power Bl.
- Experience working with State and Federal grants, including reporting and recordkeeping.
- Experience working for a contractor or working on a construction site.
- Experience working for an Architecture, Engineering, or Planning Consulting firm preparing designs, administering contracts, or preparing schedules.
- Experience using Oracle EBS (iProcurement), or similar software.

Work Location The work associated with this position will be
hybrid with a combination of teleworking and onsite work as needed. The office location is at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA). Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance of their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Work Schedule The work week is normally 40 hours, Monday through Friday. Alternative work schedules may be possible. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and therefore is eligible for overtime pay.
