KCDC is the largest and most technologically advanced Court of Limited Jurisdiction in the State of Washington. It currently processes approximately 200,000 matters per year with 25 elected judges and roughly 260 employees at 8 courthouse locations. The Court is a leader in many areas involving public safety and access to justice, including the use of problem-solving courts, jail-alternative programs, technology- and judge-managed probation services. Thirteen cities contract with King County for court services provided by KCDC.Job Summary
King County District Court (KCDC) is seeking applicants for a Payment Center Coordinator for the Payment Center located at the King County Courthouse. The coordinator will be responsible for leading and maintaining a team of fiscal specialists, in conjunction with the Payment Center Manager. Trains new fiscal specialists and provides continual cross training to the team. Committed to serving the public and providing excellent customer service on a daily basis.
Job Duties
- Supervise Fiscal Specialist Clerks, including workload distribution, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Assist with hiring, mentoring, and training new fiscal specialists.
- Act as advisor to court staff to resolve technical financial problems. Implement and understand audit procedures and reports.
- Have knowledge of cash handling processes.
- Perform end-of-day reconciliation and end-of-month accounting process. Track and assist with financial errors among court locations.
- Conduct staff meetings as required.
- Maintain effective working relationships with judges, staff, criminal justice agencies, other county agencies and the public.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of court policies, rules, guidelines and procedures
- Assist with the development of new projects and serve on committees as required.
- Handle complex issues, questions, and sensitive and confidential matters.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive matters.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Background in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Ability to plan, delegate, and coordinate work.
- Ability to continually improve processes, to develop long-range plans, and to evaluate results.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve conflict at the lowest level in a high-stress environment.
- Ability to build teams through employee engagement, performance management, and development.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and deliver data-heavy reports to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to gain thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and laws pertaining to the operations of King County District Court.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Court Administration, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or other closely related degree, OR any combination of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.

The vision abilities required to perform this position include close vision.
Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office environment with a moderate amount of noise (computers, printers, light traffic). This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
