Position Type: Full-Time; 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (40-45 hours average per week with fluctuations during the year). Requires varying work hours and days, including evenings and weekends.

Safety Worker to join our team and make a meaningful impact every day.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Campus Safety, this role ensures the upkeep, maintenance, and security of school buildings, grounds, and equipment. Responsibilities include facility repairs, safety monitoring, event support, and emergency response coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Repairs
● Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs (carpentry, plumbing, lighting, HVAC troubleshooting).
● Conduct inspections to identify facility needs and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.
● Maintain landscape areas (mowing, edging, snow removal) and handle custodial duties (cleaning, trash removal).

Campus Safety & Security
● Monitor alarm systems, security cameras, and access controls.

● Conduct routine safety patrols and respond to emergencies in collaboration with the Safety Team.
● Provide a visible security presence on campus and assist with after-hours security checks.
Event & Logistics Support
● Assist with setup, logistics, and breakdown for school events and facility rentals.
● Oversee inventory, order supplies, and manage maintenance requests efficiently.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent required.
● Knowledge of general carpentry and repair, and/or mechanical systems and at least 3+ years related experience.
● Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited oversight or direction.
● Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Ability to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person.

Physical Requirements:
● Frequent and prolonged periods standing and walking. Work is typically performed walking or standing.
● Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and crawl into awkward spaces and traverse uneven terrain.
● Ability to periodically lift up to 75 pounds at a time and frequent (daily) lifting of up to 50 pounds.
● Fully extend to reach/grab with hands and arms, and use hands to operate power tools, computer and other maintenance equipment.
● Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
● Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

● Visual acuity is required for diagnosing and repairing maintenance and mechanical problems
● Ability to work at heights up to several stories off the ground (e.g., rooftops, scissor lifts, climbing ladders) and subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise and hazards.
