This is a grant-funded, fully-benefited 20-hour/week position from September 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025.
General Statement of Duties: The Health Equity Coordinator will work with IBHC Equity Project students and collaborate with the IBHC Field Coordinator and IBHC Specializations Coordinator in identifying community needs and arranging resources for underserved and diverse communities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include but not limited to:
Essential:- Lead the monthly Health Equity Meetings for students.
- Work with IBHC Equity Project students to meet project requirements.
- Coordinate the Health Equity Poster Presentations and the Health Equity Projects.
- Infuse WSU IBHC resources into our rural, medically underserved and diverse communities to meet community partner needs.
- Disseminate online IBHC training modules and activities.
- Collaborate with the IBHC Field Coordinator and IBHC Specializations Coordinator in recommending new field sites and supervisors within integrated behavioral health/primary care settings focusing on children, youth, and family; health social work, addictions, and Latinx Community Health.
- Attend meetings, collaborate, & act as a resource for the Community Health Equity Advisory Board.
- Identify community SDOH needs and coordinating responsive community-based strategies.
- Work with the IBHCE Field Coordinator in provide assistance, consultation, and training to students, field instructors, and faculty regarding health equity.
- Assess SDOH and identify responsive strategies to systemically intervene in our rural, medically underserved and diverse communities.
- Represent WSU at the monthly meetings of the Pioneer Valley Interprofessional Education Collaborative and the Interprofessional Health Equity Incubator Work Group and Project.
- Attend meetings as needed of the Field Advisory Board, the MSW Department Committee, and other committees as necessary.
- Participate and assist in all HRSA Project related events as requested, annual conference, and grand rounds events.
Requirements: Qualifications:- Applicants should have an MSW with 2 years post-degree experience. Public health degrees will be considered.
- Previous experience in social work education and/or integrated behavioral or primary care is strongly encouraged.
- Strong public speaking, interpersonal, independent judgment, organizational, and computer skills.
- The capacity to work in a fast-paced team-based environment.
Preferred qualifications:- Previous practice with children, youth, family, with those living with addictions or in the Latinx community.
- Knowledge of area social services organizations.
- Spanish language proficiency.
Additional Information: Salary: Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies.
