Summary



The Road Services Division has an exciting opportunity for a Project/Program Manager IV supporting Fleet our Facilities needs. The Fleet and Facilities Coordinator will provide the section with robust management and visibility into the inventory, condition, and needs of our assets. They will provide day-to-day operational coordination and management, as well as support mid-term/long-term planning activities, including needs/budget assessments, and assisting with necessary planning for electrification efforts. Job Duties



Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. In this role, you will apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices to all aspects of the work.

Fleet Management:
  • Coordinate scheduling and regular maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Coordinate vehicle assignments to drivers based on availability and driver qualifications.
  • Track fleet fuel consumption and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Track and analyze fleet inventory and usage data to optimize fleet size and composition, recommending purchases or disposals of vehicles as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle operation and maintenance, including obtaining necessary permits and licenses.
  • Handle insurance claims and liaise with insurance providers for fleet vehicles, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Manage and track all fleet rentals to ensure efficient use of vehicles and reduce overall costs.
  • Investigate and report on incidents involving fleet vehicles, including accidents and breakdowns, to identify causes and prevent future occurrences.
Facilities Management:
  • Managing building and equipment maintenance schedules and vendors.
  • Respond to and dispatch for urgent maintenance calls.
  • Coordinate and manage all King County Roads facility and yard allocated space to other divisions.
  • Preparing for emergencies by creating building evacuation and other action plans.
  • Facility security systems and promoting safety within the facilities.
  • Managing equipment and supply needs, including furniture, telecommunications, kitchen appliances, office equipment and supplies, and climate control.
  • Liaising with vendors and suppliers on behalf of senior managers.
  • Develop and present the King County Roads Annual Facilities Maintenance Plan.
  • Documenting processes and keeping maintenance records for all King County Roads maintenance facilities.
  • Track/forecast facilities maintenance needs and prioritize/program facilities maintenance budget allocation accordingly.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in Fleets and Facilities coordination.
  • Effectively communicate; able to guide and advise on process, strategy and policy.
  • Ability to optimize work processes; Identify and create processes necessary to get work done; apply continual improvement practices to create efficient workflow.
  • Knowledge of research and analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of general government principles and procedures.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and investigative research skills.
  • Budgeting skills
  • Demonstrated skills in policy development and interpretation skills.
  • Facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Skills in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skills in applying quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluating data for decision making.
