Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking a full-time Education Specialist for the APT Birmingham office location. This position provides leadership in the development and support of relationships with the educational community, including career technology and adult education providers.
Responsibilities include delivery of face-to-face and virtual trainings, representation of APT at conferences, recruitment of Alabama educators for fellowships and other professional development opportunities and the development of digital educational materials for use by educators and students. The position reports to the VP for Educational Services.
Requirements: Master’s Degree, 5 years of experience in education and/or education technology, including 3+ years of teaching experience, current knowledge of pre-K-16 educational trends, working knowledge of instructional video technologies and proficiency in the use of digital media tools in learning environments, and enthusiasm about contributing to the efforts of a collaborative team of professionals committed to the development and use of APT resources to benefit the community. In-state overnight travel. Preferred: Familiarity with career education and/or workforce development, experience coaching educators, proficiency in the use of PBS Learning Media, Bilingual (English/Spanish), and familiarity with the mission and services of public media.
