The Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion serves as the principal orchestrator of multiple, complex EDI initiatives in the Division of Student Affairs as part of Tulane’s Strategy for Tomorrow. The Division of Student Affairs, with over 225+ staff in 14 departments serving 13,000 students, is a key organizational stakeholder in Tulane’s efforts regarding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs and partnering with the DSA senior leadership team, the Director of EDI works across the division to create welcoming and inclusive spaces where individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences can thrive, have a keen sense of belonging, and achieve academic and professional success. The Director should be a strategic thinker and intellectual leader who collaborates with others to cultivate a shared vision of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the division reflecting and supporting the Division’s Strategy for Tomorrow Initiatives, the Division of Student Affairs’ Strategic Plan, and Tulane’s Core Values. The Director focuses on specific strategies in the EDI space through actionable, measurable solutions. The Director will identify key synergies that can emerge as 14 departments identify annual goals/initiatives related to diversity and inclusion focusing on an economy of scale that might allow for budget/cost savings and interdependent learning. The Director will ideally provide training, consultation, and coaching that advance the division’s efforts to recruit, support, and retain diverse staff, and student learners. The Director should also be comfortable with needs assessment and data analytics to support formative evaluation of existing programs and services.
