As a Technology Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in employing advanced analytics to support data-driven strategies across all departments of our organization and deliver insights based on the data that you help define and collect. The ideal candidate will have the below requirements in addition to a desire to learn new concepts and technologies to further their abilities.

Reporting to the VP of Digital Development, this role will be involved in managing datasets in warehouses, developing queries and integrations to and from connecting systems. This is a fully remote, full-time role.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Analysis and Modeling
    • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to generate actionable insights from various data sources
    • Develop advanced reports to support news, marketing, product, and business strategies
    • Maintain predictive models to forecast audience preferences, content performance and market trends
    • Analyze A/B testing and experimentation to optimize content strategies
  • Data Infrastructure and Tools:
    • Contribute to the improvement of data infrastructure and architecture for efficient data collection, processing, and analysis
    • Create and optimize ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility
    • Communicate knowledge and evaluate new tools, applications and technologies to enhance data analytics capabilities
    • Ability to recognize emerging industry trends and determine if tracking these trends brings value
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    • Clear understand how to interpret data to provide insights in a business context to key decision makers
    • Works closely with various departments to collect, organize, protect and analyze data
    • Support analytics and reporting efforts on products, programs and operations
    • Collaborate with product teams to implement data-driven features that improve user experience and retention
  • Governance:
    • Uphold data quality, security, and compliance with privacy regulations
    • Implement data privacy policies and comply with data protection regulations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics or mathematics
  • Experience (5 years) in data analysis and statistical modeling
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis as well as front-end development technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
    • Demonstrated knowledge of database systems, ETL processes and data warehousing - ideally the following: Big Query, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Segment, RedFast
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the costs associated with data collection and storage
  • Experience with data layer elements and data collection
  • Understanding of data visualization techniques and tools
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • An interest in digital media content consumption
  • Track record of working effectively with remote teams and independently
  • A desire to learn about:
    • Predictive Modeling and Machine Learning - collaborating with marketing and content teams to personalize user experiences and increase engagement.
Pay: $70,000 - $85,000
