Executive Assistant

The Buffalo News has an immediate opening for an Executive Assistant who will provide administrative and organizational support for the Publisher & President, Executive Editor, and Managing Editor at The Buffalo News. The individual must be able to work both independently and as part of a team to effectively manage workloads and resources. The applicant must be flexible and demonstrate a positive "whatever it takes" attitude to produce quality work. Duties include managing contact with all department heads, community members, callers and visitors; scheduling and preparing for appointments, meetings, and helping with travel arrangements; working with other departments to meet day-to-day needs, drafting correspondence, and handling expense reports and invoices.

The ideal candidate must possess good business writing skills; superior organizational skills, efficiently handling all details; fluency in standard business and digital technology; a polished, professional demeanor that exhibits tact and diplomacy; and absolute integrity and discretion. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' prior experience working as a senior level administrative assistant.

This part-time position allows for flexible working hours based on company needs. The average work week will be around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. The hourly pay for this position will be $20 - $25 based on experience.
