Sports Clerk

The Omaha World-Herald sports department has a job opening for a part-time clerk looking to get a start in journalism. This job offers a chance to be a part of an organization covering three Division I programs, the College World Series, Big Ten football/basketball/volleyball, high school programs from across the region and more.

The primary duty of the job is helping compile high school and college roundups for publication. Those who show the ability to work efficiently under deadlines and have an eye for detail may also be tasked with writing stories, covering games and copy editing. Someone who can multitask and spot key news from the game will succeed. 

Candidates should have fast and accurate computer skills, understand the basics of journalism and be available to work nights as game results are arriving and the next day's news is being produced.
