About the Role: We are excited to introduce the Web, SharePoint & Editing Lead position - Water Quality Planner/Project Manager IV (WQPPM IV) within the King County Wastewater Treatment Division, Environmental Services Unit (ESU). This is a senior level position that will oversee and direct the work of staff in the Environmental Services Unit providing web, and editorial support to Wastewater Treatment Division's (WTD) capital projects, programs and initiatives. The person in this position will lead a team of technical and professional staff who ensure compliance with web, intranet and editorial standards for WTD projects, programs, sections, units and work groups. The successful candidate will also provide guidance and coaching to staff on collaborating across diverse WTD sections and work groups.
This position performs work remotely and onsite .

The Environmental Services Unit (ESU) is committed to environmental protection and restoration through its responsibilities to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and requirements. ESU also provides web, intranet and editorial services to WTD programs, projects and initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing:- Provide oversight and direct preparation of external web pages for capital projects, programs and division initiatives.
- Provide oversight for development and ongoing support (as needed) of intranet (SharePoint) sites for Environmental and Community Services Section (ECSS) and Director's Office staff.
- Provide oversight of editorial services for WTD staff.
- Monitor work distribution and staff progress on assigned work and make recommendations to supervisor regarding staff assignments.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to Unit staff on technical issues and career development; model excellent workplace behaviors and expectations and provide feedback to staff in these areas.
- Lead efforts to mentor and onboard new staff to the Unit/Section and collaborate with other Leads in Environmental and Community Services Section (ECSS).
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Qualifications You Bring:- Demonstrated technical competence in all aspects of web communications with at least 10 years of experience managing web content within King County.
- Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating SharePoint sites.
- Exceptional skill in working collaboratively with co-workers, supervisor and Division staff at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to lead in equity and social justice efforts including having difficult conversations and addressing microaggressions.
- Exemplify continuous improvement in conducting assigned work.
- Be exceptionally dependable in accomplishing work assignments with little or no assistance required and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

It Would Be Great If You Also Bring:- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office/Teams, digital photography, web writing and editing, survey systems, and style guides.
- Knowledge of wastewater systems, practices and terminology.
Supplemental Information
Working Conditions:
- Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements of up to four days a month. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various sites within King County Wastewater Treatment Division's service area, including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104). This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department's vision of Green Where We Work .
- Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
- Work Schedule: This full-time position works 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
- Union Representation: This position is represented by The Technical Employees' Association (TEA) .
