POSITION: Registered Professional Nurse/COVID Testing Coordinator

District Wide

SALARY: $26.66per hour (Step 1) -$36.71 per hour (Step 11)

Salary determined from the School-Related Personnel (SRP) agreement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   Graduation from a school of nursing approved by the NYS Education  Department from a course approved by such department as qualifying for  Registered Nurse.  Possession of a current New York State license. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:   As a Registered Professional Nurse. Knowledge and experience responding to COVID cases preferred. 

  • Provide oversight and coordination of all aspects of school-based COVID screening testing in East Greenbush Central School District including student testing, staff testing and athletic testing in coordination with district testing teams;
  • Development and implementation of scheduling for each school’s testing schedule in coordination with administration;
  • Assist with the implementation of COVID related protocols including testing, contact tracing and State reporting in coordination with school nurses and administration;
  • Collection and reporting of testing data to NYSDOH.
  • Ensure adequate inventory and timely distribution of testing materials to testing sites;
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing including management of employee and parental consent forms;
  • Serve as frontline resource to all district buildings to answer questions and requests related to testing services;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive school contact listing and testing database and prepare reports as necessary;Serve as liaison to local county health department;
  • Prepare and complete required daily reporting to the NYSDOH ECLRS systems;
  • Represent EGCSD upon supervisor’s request at local, regional and statewide activities as they relate to the area of responsibility.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:  AND ABILITIES:  General knowledge of COVID-19 symptom identification and mitigation protocols; good working knowledge of COVID-19 testing protocols and lab reporting requirements; good knowledge of occupational health and safety and related standards for personal protection equipment required for COVID-19; Good knowledge of modern professional terminology, procedures, equipment and business English; ability to operate a personal computer and utilize common office software programs including presentations, word processing, spreadsheets and databases; ability to understand and interpret complex oral instructions and/or written directions; ability to participating assigned projects  and lay-out work for others; ability to supervise related staff;  ability to work well with others and to secure their cooperation; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
