About Us

Ur-Energy is a uranium mining company that uses in-situ recovery (ISR) at its Wyoming operations. We're seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead the satellite plant at our Shirley Basin operation, run through Pathfinder Mines Corporation.

The Role

You'll lead day-to-day operations at the Shirley Basin satellite, which covers ion exchange, filtration, water treatment and disposal, and reagent systems. You'll report to the Shirley Basin Mine Manager and supervise the plant team. The job combines hands-on process work with crew leadership, and your focus will be safe, compliant, and efficient uranium recovery.

What You'll Do

  • Run safe and efficient uranium capture from production fluids
  • Keep operations in line with regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Collect and analyze process data to spot trends, and prepare daily and monthly production and compliance reports
  • Schedule and manage work crews
  • Build operating budgets, and specify and buy process materials and equipment
  • Review automation and instrumentation data to improve plant performance
  • Spot problems early and lead troubleshooting of operational upsets, including:
    • Fluid transfer, filtration, and treatment issues
    • Developing and improving chemical systems and processes
    • Reviewing and improving P&IDs and flow sheets
  • Work with other departments to meet production and operating goals

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong math skills applied to chemistry and process operations
  • Experience working under regulatory requirements and procedures
  • Critical thinking and clear communication
  • Strong planning, organization, and follow-through
  • Solid understanding of safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role splits time between the plant floor and the office. It involves regular driving, walking, standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. You'll regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. The work environment includes mechanical equipment, moderate to loud noise, and routine industrial hazards such as fumes, caustic chemicals, and electrical risk. Low-level radiation exposure is possible, and it is monitored under our safety program.
