Education Reporter

The Missoulian, the largest of Lee Enterprises' five Montana newsrooms and part of the state's largest news organization, is seeking an ambitious and enterprising reporter to build a beat around schools and education.

This full-time position in our digital-first newsroom will provide opportunities to write daily news, dig into policy decisions that impact Montana families and children, and explore issues and trends around literacy and learning. We also want to tell engaging stories about teachers and students. We're looking for a reporter who will plug in quickly, invest in relationships, connect readers with what they can't see themselves, and write with authority.

Missoula is home to one of the largest public-school districts in Montana and the University of Montana, the state's flagship for higher education.

Missoula, nicknamed the Garden City, is an outdoor recreation haven situated in a valley surrounded by five mountain ranges and boasting three rivers. Besides the skiing, mountain biking, hiking, trail running and river floating opportunities that abound, Missoula has a rich arts and entertainment scene, a bustling downtown with a variety of restaurants, bars and breweries. We're less than three hours from Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park, too.
